Adam Spence

Managing Director

Adam Spence is a co-founder of the Bloom Local Food Fund and the CEO and Director of Social Venture Connexion (SVX). Adam helped start up VERGE Capital, the MaRS Centre for Impact Investing, B Lab Canada, the MaRS Catalyst Fund (now Amplify Capital), and the School for Social Entrepreneurs – Ontario. He was Executive Director of the Ontario Association of Food Banks (OAFB) and he led a number of higher education and training organizations. Adam has spoken to audiences across the country on issues related to education, poverty, and impact investing and he has been featured in numerous media outlets, including CNN, TVO, CTV, CBC Television and Radio, BNN, Forbes, GlobalTV, the Toronto Star, the Financial Post, and the Globe & Mail. In 2002, Adam was awarded the Queen’s Jubilee Gold Medal, in 2012 Adam was named one of McMaster University’s 125 People of Impact, an honour given to McMaster staff and alumni who have made the greatest impact over the past 125 years, and in 2014 Adam was named one of Seven Canadians Thinking Big by the Toronto Star.

Kevin Taylor

Fund Manager

Kevin is a serial entrepreneur with a background in technology and management consulting. He leads the Fund Design and Management practice at SVX, a diversified, non-profit financial services firm driving impact for investors, organizations, funds, and enterprises. Kevin also heads up the SVX US Operations. He received his MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.

Ameeta Vijay

Chief Compliance Officer

Ameeta Vijay is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CA) with over 20 years of extensive regulatory, compliance, audit, risk management and international work experience. At PriceWaterhouseCoopers, she specialized in the audit of investment companies, after which she joined the Bermuda Monetary Authority, operationalized a compliance monitoring regime, risk assessment programs, managed a $100M fixed income portfolio and conducted investigations and enforcement work. She later joined Fidelity Investments International where she developed its local regulatory regime. Ameeta is currently the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of SVX, where she oversees compliance with corporate policies, relevant laws and regulations, as well as governance and financial operations. She is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of compliance policies, operational procedures and internal control processes for the Bloom Local Food Fund.

Nazm Grewal

Fund Services Associate

Nazm is an Applied Math student at Western University. Prior to SVX, Nazm has internship experience within the social impact space, particularly in impact measurement and social finance. At SVX, Nazm supports the Fund Design and Management team.

Eoin Callan

Managing Director

Eoin Callan is a co-founder of the Bloom Local Food Fund and helped found the Catalyst Community Finance Initiative, a multi-year initiative to develop enhanced ecosystem infrastructure to support the start-up and scale-up of community finance organizations in urban and rural communities in Ontario and across the country. He has managed a community loan fund and place-based equity fund, and was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan, where he served on the investment committee of the $100- billion fund. He was the Economics Correspondent for the Financial Times in Washington, DC, and has appeared as a guest on the BBC, CNBC, NBC, CNN, CBC, and Fox.

Katy McIntyre

Fund Manager

Katy’s work focuses on building sustainable and inclusive rural communities through place-based funds and initiatives in Canada that pursue financial and social returns. Experienced with working with asset owners through the full lifecycle of transactions. Katy has also supported entrepreneurs and companies launch, catalyze, and capacity build within the local food ecosystem in Prince Edward County and throughout Ontario.

Mritunjay (MJ) Sinha

Investment Principal

An engineer and MBA by education, and an impact and responsible investor by profession, MJ devotes his skills, experiences, and education to assist in building a fair, just, and equitable world. MJ has helped asset owners understand the power of their capital to reshape the world through co-conceptualization, co-design, and execution of several impact and responsible investment strategies and portfolios that have totalled over C$900M. He is an active volunteer, and sit on the Board, Finance Committees, and Investment Committees for several nonprofits and foundations.

Sharujan Santoshkumar

Analyst

Sharujan is an economics and finance graduate from the University of Hong Kong with over 3 years of experience as an investment analyst outside of Canada. At SVX, he supports multiple divisions including capital advisory and fund design, and serves as an Analyst for the Bloom Local Food Fund.
